If you’re looking for a true fine dining experience in Fort Lauderdale—something elegant, seasonal, and surprisingly family-friendly—MAASS Restaurant might be your next night out.

We had 5PM reservations at MAASS Fort Lauderdale, and from the moment we walked in, the tone was set for an unforgettable evening. The staff was warm and attentive, and yes—they offer shawls if you get chilly (which, let’s be honest, is always a bonus in a Florida restaurant with strong AC).

A Tasting Menu Worth the Splurge

MAASS features a seasonal tasting menu that’s designed for guests to linger and enjoy every bite. If you’re into thoughtfully curated, elevated plates—this is the spot.

Our favorites:

  • Kaluga Caviar & Coffee – rich, salty, unexpected, and totally addictive.

  • Foie Gras Nutter Butter – playful and luxurious.

  • Japanese A5 Wagyu – melt-in-your-mouth perfection.

Another highlight? We never had to ask for our wine to be refilled. Service was seamless, which made the whole evening feel even more special.

Bringing a Child to a Fine Dining Restaurant? Here’s How It Went

While MAASS doesn’t have a kids’ menu, the chef was happy to accommodate. My daughter enjoyed:

  • A simple and satisfying butter pasta

  • Pull-apart bread with whipped butter (truly a hit)

  • Vanilla ice cream for dessert

It’s not the type of restaurant I’d bring kids to often, but for a special occasion, they made her feel welcome without compromising the upscale vibe.

Let’s Talk Cost…

This was not a budget dinner. Our experience, including the tasting menu and wine, came to over $800 for two adults and a child. That said, for a high-end culinary experience in South Florida, it was absolutely worth the splurge. If you’re celebrating something big—or just want a luxury night out—it delivers.

Would I Go Back?

Yes—especially for a date night or adult celebration. It’s rare to find a place that balances flawless service, creative food, and just enough flexibility for families.

Tip: Book early and go during golden hour. The 5PM reservation gave us quiet time before the dinner rush, and the light was perfect.
